Setting up Facebook Messenger

The Facebook Messenger channel allows you to connect your chatbot to a Facebook Page, enabling automated messaging, customer support, and real-time engagement directly within Messenger.

Prerequisites

Before connecting, ensure you meet the following requirements:
  1. Facebook Profile
    • You must have a personal Facebook profile to start the integration process.
  2. Facebook Page with Admin Access
    • Your chatbot will link to a specific Facebook Page.
    • You need to have a Page created and admin rights to manage it.

Permissions Required

During the connection process, the platform will request these permissions:
  • Access to Page Conversations → Allows the chatbot to read incoming messages and respond automatically.
  • Access to Your List of Pages → Displays all Facebook Pages you manage so you can select the correct one for integration.

Key Functions of Messenger Integration

  • Instant Automated Replies → Respond to FAQs, product queries, and service requests automatically.
  • Lead Generation → Collect customer details such as name, email, and phone directly in Messenger.
  • 24/7 Support → Provide continuous assistance to customers, even outside business hours.
  • Seamless Handoff → Escalate chats to a live agent when human support is required.

Example Use Cases

  • Retail & E-commerce → Share product catalogs, handle order queries, and track deliveries.
  • Customer Support → Provide automated answers to common questions and escalate complex issues.
  • Event & Services → Book tickets, schedule appointments, or send reminders through Messenger.
